Why Crypto Exchanges Lock User Accounts Without Warning
Crypto exchange account freezes often happen because centralised platforms must meet AML, KYC, sanctions, and security rules. A restriction may be triggered by unusual transaction patterns, funds linked to high-risk wallets, sanctions-screening matches, expired identity documents, VPN or unfamiliar-login alerts, terms-of-service violations, liquidity stress, or technical failures. Exchanges may give little detail because anti-tipping-off laws, active investigations, automated reviews, and legal risk can limit what support teams can disclose. If your account is frozen, contact support in writing, update KYC documents, request escalation to compliance, and seek legal advice before replying in depth when large balances or law-enforcement issues may be involved. To reduce risk, keep details current, avoid VPNs, use transparent transaction patterns, check wallet history, know regional rules, and avoid holding all assets on one platform.
